The Chanel Flap Bag remains one of the most iconic in the brand\u2019s history. Why the 1980s Marks an Evolution in the Chanel Brand and Designs<\/span><\/h2>\n

The original lock used by Chanel in her Flap Bag and other designs is <\/span>known as a Mademoiselle lock<\/span><\/a>. This is compiled of a fixed hardware clasp, and a twisting rectangle shape at the centre.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The interlocking Cs was an existing logo that featured in other areas of the bags and pieces designed by Chanel \u2013 however, it was in the 1980s that Karl Lagerfeld came in and transformed this logo into a revolutionary clasp for the flap bags.
